Desert

   1) DESERT                                                       

A Desert is religion that receives almost no rainfall.In general desert are areas which a moisture deficit lose moisture than receives .Desert are define with area with average precipitation less than 250 per mm year or ever more water is lost by evaporation and transpiration than fall by precipitation .Desert constitute about one third 33 % of the earth land surface.The largest desert on earth is Antarctica.
                                                   
  2) HOT DESERT

This is the most common form of desert .They have large daily and seasonal temperature variation  with day time temperature reaching more than 45 c in the summer and dipping to o c at night in the winter.The Hot Desert is SAHARA DESERT.
                                                       
 3) COLD DESERT

AKA polar desert are desert which occur in extremely cold region In cold desert the mean temperature  during the warmest month is less than 10 degree c.It form due to the extreme lack of precipitation .It covered in snow and ice.Due to lack of  liquid water it cannot support life .The largest cold desert on earth is Antarctica..

4) Mountain Desert
The mountain desert are desert that occur at very high attitude. For  e g Ladakh and Tibet.
These places are profoundly low humidity due to there large distance from the nearest available source of  moisture.

5 )RAIN SHADOW DESERT
Rain shadow desert form when all mountains ranges blocks cloud from reaching areas in he direction of the wind . When the air reaches the leeward side ,it is dry since it has already lost all its moisture ,resulting in a desert. EXAMPLE Tirunelveli area in the southern Tamil Nadu.Animals in the deserts include Kangaroo,Rat,Coyoti,Jackal,Jack,Rabbit and Lizards.Most desert animals remain hidden during the day time to control body temperature and limit moisture needs.Animals that have adopted to live in desert are called Xerophytes .Most desert plants are salts and  drought tolerant such as Xerophytes.Some desert plants store water in there leaves ,stems and roots.

6)WATER IN DESER
Rain does fall occassionally in desert and when they do,desert storm are often violent.There are occassionally dry steam called arroyos or wadis. A few desert are crossed by Exoctic river  that originate elsewherebut run through desert areas examples Nile, Colarado, and Yellow rivers .
When desert lakes are dry up,they leave a salt crush or hard pan. The flat area of clay,silt and sand encrusted by sand called Playa or sink.Examples desert lake,Great salt lake(USA).The ATACAMA DESERT  in  Chile is desert place of earth.The average rainfall in these region is one mm per year.
Some weather desert station in the desert have never received rain.
